What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

We appreciate that you are conscientious and wise enough to investigate what we believe. There is a lot of Scriptural teaching and understanding behind these tenets.

God

We believe that there is one God who is described in the Bible as three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross and was raised from the grave. Now in heaven, Jesus will one day return as He promised.

Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 53:9, 1 Peter 2:21-24; Matthew 27 & 28; John 14:1-3; Revelation 22

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one gains access to God the Father except through Christ. His blood, shed by choice at Calvary, provides forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God to those who will surrender their lives to Christ as Lord and Savior & that every believer has a role to play in serving God through His Church, each gifted by Him to serve Him and each other. People cannot save themselves through good works.

John 14:6; John 10:14-18; Hebrews 9; 1 Corinthians 12;
Ephesians 2:8-9

Bible

The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God preserved for our guidance and instruction as disciples of Jesus.
that the Bible serves as our only rule for faith and practice.
that we are to “rightly divide the word of truth;” speaking where the Bible speaks and remaining silent where it is silent.

Hebrews 4:12, 2 Corinthians 4:1-7, 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16

The Church

The Church represents the body of Christ on Earth and is entrusted with the purposes of glorifying God, leading the lost to Christ (the ministry of reconciliation) and strengthening each other in Christ.

Acts 2:42; Romans 12

Eternal Life

that heaven and hell exist as eternal destinations after death. Hell is a place of eternal punishment for those who reject Jesus Christ as Savior. Heaven is a place of reward and eternal life reserved for those saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 2, Romans 5-8, Revelation 20 & 21

Baptism

that we have been commissioned to practice baptism by immersion as part of the salvation process.

Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-6

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third part of the Trinity. That the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to all who have obeyed the Gospel of Christ, Repented of their Sins, and Entered into the Waters of Baptism. The Holy Spirit guides, comforts, and grows us Spiritually as to be better followers of Jesus.

.Acts 2:38, 5:32
